Wes Craven
Wes Craven is an American film director, producer and writer. He is most commonly known for his work in the horror genre. He came up with the idea that 'Murders happen in areas of safety'.
Examples of this include hospitals schools and even homes. A lot of popular films follow these trends, an example is the paranormal activity series, which have the common theme of all being set in a household environment. This gave the audience the idea that even their own homes aren't as safe as they appear, which adds to show how these films were successful. (H.C)

Carol Clover
Carol Clover is an American professor of film studies and also an Author. Her used theory is 'Killers in horror tend to have either issues from childhood or are sexually disturbed'. This idea comes from the theory behind how killers got to their current state of mind, how commonly as they were abused at a stage in their life, they carry that with them and take it out on people at a latter stage. We didn't go on to use this theory as it would be hard to present it in a short trailer. She also had the idea that 'Female killers are gender confused', an example of this is the mother in Friday the 13th. (H.C)

Wheeler Dixon
Wheeler Dixon is a notable American filmmaker and scholar, he is seen as an expert of film history. His idea was that 'Sites of activity - there to be killed off'. This relating to a trailer commonly sees someone being killed off, this shows the audience that the film is a horror and due to the way the character is killed off, what kind of sub-genre of horror the film is. For example someone being killed by a knife shows that it is a slasher, where as someone being killed by a non living object like a doll, would signify that the film is a paranormal. With our trailer we don't actually see somebody be killed, but due to the main female character being able to pick up someone without using their hands, we show to the audience that the trailer is about possession.
