Risk Assessment
When filming our horror trailer we must look at the risks involved as we will be filming in locations where risks may occur.
Although we didn't use any dangerous props we stil had to carry out a full risk assessment of all the dangerous around us. When we filmed at Gloucester Cathedral it was dark and wet so the risks of slipping over and causing injury was more likely to happen due to the circumstances of the weather. To reduce the chance of injuries we had to be sensible and take caution with our actions. Filling out a risk assessment form was necessary as we could document all the relevant information needed.
When we filmed around school we not only had to check for the possibility of risks for ourselves but we also had to seek out the safety of others as we were filming around school and at time when others who were not involved where around so we had to make sure that we were being carefully reducing the chance of risks towards others so for example we would have to give a warning to let people know to stay out the way for their own safety. Having a member of staff around was also necessary as when filming the more aggressive scenes were there is more chance of injury having an supervisor around just for precaution incase anything did go wrong.
We made sure that we used all of our equipment safely, we took care of the camera and tripod when moving to different locations to film. Also the only major risk that could have occurred is that when we filmed the possession scene I had to jump of a high post in order to get the shot. The is a possible chance of me hurting myself as i fall to the ground, to prevent the risk of injury we chose a place to jump where there was a softer landing and i also jumped off the ledge slowly because it was wet and I didn't want to slip. We did dry the post i was standing on to prevent the risk. I also had my group members close by so if i did hurt myself they wold be there to help me out.
