Sound Analysis
From seeing and analysing many different trailers, it is clear that the use of sound can either make or break a horror trailer.
Oculus
Watching the trailer with sound then without makes you really understand the importance of good sound effects and the use of a soundtrack. The sound effects used are what creates an eerie atmosphere and brings a sense of danger to the trailer. We liked how the sound in this trailer built up tension and made us feel on edge, which is how we want our audience to feel. The sense of tension is the main feel we want to display through the sound, as this is something that can be created well.
We looked at many different trailers for inspiration for our sound effects. As Oculus was our favourite we thought it would be a huge mistake not to include a part of it in our teaser. The storyline is fairly similar in the sense they both involve evil spirits, the music sounded perfect once we added it to our teaser, and the words used worked completely in sync.

Our Trailer
At the begining we inserted soundtracks into our timeline to see how each of them would sound and match up to our storyline, we started with a gospel type soundtrack, as it would associate with the feel of religion and taking of the soul shown in our trailer. This is the effect the music we chose to add had on the general scary feel. T.D
